INTEC's experience with design, upgrading and operation of pipelay systems ranges from complete new build systems to design of specialized components such as pipelay stingers and pipe handling systems. Selected projects include:

• Barge conversions for various pipelay projects, including design and project management for IPCO Marine Nigerian operations, on the Russian Crane Barge Stanislav Yudin and for Techint with Argentinean pipelay operations.
• Pipelay stinger design for Petrobras Laybarge BGL-1 (in water depths to 275 m), Global Laybarge Chickasaw (in water depths to 1,200 m).
• J-lay stinger design for semi-submersible drilling vessel Amethyst for use in deepwater pipeline installations in Brazil and for the semi-submersible Uncle John under contract to CalDive.
• Drilling unit upgrade for Bideford Dolphin, to increase deck capacity, detail modifications for life extension of equipment and structure and procure and install new ram type drilling system, mud pump system, thrusters, mooring system and accommodation units.
• Deepwater Pipeline Installation JIS, to develop lower cost deepwater pipeline installation methods beyond 6,000 ft.
