- Review of market conditions, and definition of the range of acceptable vessels
- Identification of possible candidates in conjunction with a broker
- Evaluation of Classification Society records and data provided by the vessel owners
- Screening survey inspection of leading candidates
- Define whether the vessel will be purchased, or obtained on a long term charter
- Review terms and conditions offered by the vessel owners
- Negotiate the final price, contractual terms, delivery location, and required delivery condition
- Witness the acceptance dry-docking of the vessel
- Verify the quantity of fuel and consumable items which are purchased upon delivery of the vessel
This process typically requires from six to eight weeks, but can require several months if timely decisions can not be made on behalf of our clients.
