Drafting Design

INTECSEA uses 3D modeling tools to produce sophisticated 3D models of subsea components, and to create animations and “stills” of these models for “fly-throughs” or posters for various presentations. We maintain one special group of CAD stations for this purpose, outfitted with 3D Studio Max and a Perception Video recorder card used for committing 3D animations to videotape. We also provide Desktop Publishing services, utilizing PageMaker, 3D Studio Max, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD to create detailed operations manuals. INTECSEA maintains CAD stations fully equipped with Dell Precision Workstations configured as follows:

  • 2+ Gigahertz processors
  • 1,024+ MB of RAM (minimum)
  • 256+ MB 3D video cards
  • Dell 24-inch LCD monitors

Each CAD station is loaded with AutoCAD, and the Microsoft Office 2000 suite of programs. Select CAD stations also have a collection of SoftDesk mapping tools designed to simplify and automate the process of translating complex field survey data into meaningful base maps and alignment sheets. All CAD files are served from a SANS environment. All printers/plotters are network accessible.
